- 2 ribeye steaks
- 1 lb calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions: How to Cook Steak Calamari
- Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, mix the flour, cornmeal, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the calamari in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- In a separate skillet, heat some oil over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- While the steaks are resting, melt butter in the skillet used to cook the steaks. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.
- To serve, slice the steaks and arrange them on a platter. Top with the crispy calamari rings and drizzle with the garlic parsley butter. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
