  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Handi

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute.
  4. Add turmeric, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook the spices for a minute to release their flavors.
  5. Now, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil starts to separate from the masala.
  6. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
  7. Add the chicken pieces and season with salt. Cover and cook until the chicken is tender, stirring occasionally.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and pour in the cream. Mix well and simmer for a couple of minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
