Recipe Chicken Handi
Chicken Handi is a popular and flavorful dish from the Indian subcontinent. It is a creamy and rich curry made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a spiced tomato-based gravy. This dish is best enjoyed with naan or rice.

- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1/2 cup yogurt, whisked
- 1/4 cup fresh cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a deep pan or handi over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
- Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until they are sealed and lightly browned.
- Reduce the heat to low and add whisked yogurt. Mix well to coat the chicken.
- Cover the pan and let the chicken cook for about 20-25 minutes or until tender.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add fresh cream and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. <
