Nepali Chicken is a delicious and flavorful dish that originates from Nepal. It is a popular dish in Nepali cuisine and is known for its rich spices and tender chicken. This recipe will guide you through the process of making this mouthwatering dish.

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
  4. Now, add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  6. Add the spice mixture to the pan and stir well to coat the chicken evenly.
  7. Pour in the tomato puree and mix everything together.
  8. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook for about 20 minutes, or until it is tender and cooked through.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala over the chicken and give it a final stir.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
