Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a paste.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the paste and coat them evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add the tomato puree to the pan and cook for a few minutes until the oil separates.
  5. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and mix well. Cover the pan and let it simmer for another 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan
