Ingredients:

  • 4 Jidori chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions: How to Cook Jidori Chicken

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic to make the marinade.
  2. Season the Jidori chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then place them in the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off excess marinade. Reserve the marinade for later.
  5. Sear the chicken breasts in the hot skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  7. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and bring it to a simmer. Cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Slice the chicken breasts and drizzle the sauce over them. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
