Hennessy Fried Chicken Recipe

  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup Hennessy
  • Vegetable oil, for frying


  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and Hennessy.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken into the buttermilk mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing firmly to adhere the flour to the chicken.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet or fryer. Fry the chicken in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook the chicken for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until it is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
