Filipino Chicken Sandwich Recipe

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Mayonnaise
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, oyster sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well to make the marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts in a ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
- Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and nicely charred. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
- While the chicken is resting, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and sliced onions. <
