Fresh Market Chicken Parmesan is a delicious and classic Italian dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. This recipe combines tender chicken breasts, tangy marinara sauce, and melted cheese to create a mouthwatering meal that the whole family will love.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, for garnish


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the greased baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the baking dish from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving.
