Chicken Verde Burrito Recipe

The chicken verde burrito is a delicious and flavorful Mexican dish that combines tender chicken, tangy verde sauce, and a variety of toppings. This recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup verde sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, shred the chicken using two forks.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat the verde sauce over low heat until warmed through.
  6. Place the flour tortillas on a baking sheet and warm them in the preheated oven for about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Take one warmed tortilla and spread a spoonful of verde sauce in the center.
  8. Place a portion of the shredded chicken on top of the sauce.
  9. Sprinkle some shredded cheese, diced onions, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro over the chicken.
  10. Roll the tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you go.
  11. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  12. Place the rolled burritos back
