Chicken Tikka Biryani is a flavorful and aromatic dish that combines the rich flavors of chicken tikka with fragrant basmati rice. This dish is a popular choice for special occasions and gatherings, as it is sure to impress your guests with its delicious taste.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons ghee
  • Salt to taste

Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Tikka Biryani

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add chicken cubes to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Wash basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, heat ghee and sauté the sliced onions until golden brown. Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is tender.
  4. Layer the cooked chicken at the bottom of a heavy-bottomed pot. Top it with half of the soaked basmati rice. Sprinkle half of the chopped tomatoes, coriander leaves, and mint leaves.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining rice, tomatoes, coriander leaves, and mint leaves. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the rice is cooked through.
  6. Once the biryani is cooked, gently fluff the rice with a fork. Serve hot with raita and enjoy!
