Chicken Tikka Biryani Recipe

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped
- 4 tablespoons ghee
- Salt to taste
Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Tikka Biryani
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add chicken cubes to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Wash basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
- In a large pot, heat ghee and sauté the sliced onions until golden brown. Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is tender.
- Layer the cooked chicken at the bottom of a heavy-bottomed pot. Top it with half of the soaked basmati rice. Sprinkle half of the chopped tomatoes, coriander leaves, and mint leaves.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining rice, tomatoes, coriander leaves, and mint leaves. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the rice is cooked through.
- Once the biryani is cooked, gently fluff the rice with a fork. Serve hot with raita and enjoy!
