Chicken Shorba Recipe

Chicken shorba is a delicious and comforting soup that is popular in Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Add this spice mixture to the pot and stir well to coat the chicken.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving
