- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Shorba
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté until fragrant.
- Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onions are translucent.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Stir in coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add tomatoes and cook until they soften.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add carrots, potatoes, and green peas. Simmer for another 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in garam masala and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves.
