Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Shawarma Jamie Oliver

  1. In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cayenne pepper, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breasts into thin strips and add them to the marinade, making sure to coat the chicken evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken strips onto skewers and grill for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  4. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing together some plain yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve the chicken shawarma with warm pita bread, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, and a dollop of the yogurt sauce.
  6. Enjoy your homemade Chicken Shawarma!
