Chicken Parmesan is a classic Italian dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a rich tomato sauce and melted cheese. This recipe uses Prego sauce to make it even easier and more flavorful. Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the chicken breasts to a baking dish. Spoon Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce over each chicken breast, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
