Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves, chopped mint leaves, and salt. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the batter and coat them evenly. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the marinated chicken pieces into the oil. Fry them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  5. Cook the chicken pakoras until they turn golden brown and crispy. This usually takes about 5-6 minutes per batch.
