Chicken Nishime Hawaii Recipe

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 1 cup water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Nishime Hawaii

  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the pot and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  3. Add the onion, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts to the pot. Simmer for another 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
