Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Marsala Ina Garten

  1. Place each chicken breast between 2 sheets of parchment paper and pound it out to 1/4-inch thick. Season each piece with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the flour in a shallow plate and dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. In a large sauté pan, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3 minutes on each side, until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and sauté the mushrooms for about 5 minutes, until they are browned and tender.
  5. Pour the Marsala wine into the pan and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the chicken stock and simmer for 5 minutes, until the sauce has slightly thickened.
  6. Return the chicken breasts to the pan and simmer for another 5 minutes, until the chicken is heated through and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the chicken and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious Chicken Marsala!
