Chicken Gongura Recipe

- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups gongura leaves, washed and chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Gongura
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped gongura leaves and green chilies. Mix well.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the chicken is cooked through and the gongura leaves are wilted.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
