  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  6. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over them.
  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
  9. Stir the fresh basil into the sauce and season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  10. Serve the chicken fra diavolo with the spicy tomato sauce poured over the top.
