  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, chopped

  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions: How to Cook Chicken Bharta

  1. Boil the chicken breasts in water with a pinch of salt until cooked through. Shred the chicken using two forks and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the grated ginger and minced garlic to the pan. Cook for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add the shredded chicken to the pan and mix it with the masala. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala and fresh coriander leaves over the chicken bharta. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
