Chicken And Farro Recipe


Chicken and Farro is a delicious and nutritious dish that combines tender chicken with hearty farro grains. This recipe is perfect for a wholesome weeknight dinner or a special occasion. The combination of flavors and textures will leave you satisfied and wanting more.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup farro
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  4. Add the farro to the skillet and stir to coat it with the onion and garlic mixture.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and add the dried thyme. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the farro is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  6. While the farro is cooking, slice the cooked chicken breasts into thin strips.
  7. Once the farro is cooked, remove the skillet from the heat and let it sit, covered, for a few minutes.
  8. Fluff the farro with a fork and divide it onto plates. Top with the sliced chicken breasts.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
