Cambodian Chicken Recipes

  • 2 pounds of chicken, cut into pieces
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish


  1. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, vegetable oil, turmeric powder, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Place the chicken pieces in a large ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off.
  4. Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). The chicken should be nicely charred and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it
