Butter chicken, also known as murgh makhani, is a popular Indian dish that is loved for its rich and creamy tomato-based sauce. This dish is a perfect combination of tender chicken pieces cooked in a flavorful sauce made with butter, tomatoes, and aromatic spices. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and chili powder. Mix well.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them evenly. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent.
  4. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until it is browned on all sides
