Instructions: How to Cook Butter Chicken Bon Appetit
- In a bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the chicken pieces to the skillet and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the heavy cream and butter, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve the butter chicken hot with steamed rice or naan bread. Enjoy!
