  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


  1. In a bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to make the barbecue sauce.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag and pour half of the barbecue sauce over them. Seal the bag and massage the sauce into the chicken to coat evenly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken on the grill, skin side down. Cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
