Chicken La Madeleine Recipe
Chicken La Madeleine is a classic French dish that features tender chicken breasts cooked in a creamy mushroom and white wine sauce. This dish is rich, flavorful, and perfect for a special dinner at home.
Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutesIngredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions: How to Cook Chicken La Madeleine
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound them to an even thickness.
- In a shallow dish, season the flour with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken breasts in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are golden brown and tender, about 5 minutes.
- Deglaze the skillet with the white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow the wine to reduce by half.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Chicken La Madeleine hot, garnished with chopped parsley. Enjoy!
