Steak fried rice is a delicious and satisfying dish that combines tender steak, flavorful vegetables, and fluffy rice all cooked together in a wok. This dish is perfect for using up leftover rice and can be customized with your favorite vegetables and seasonings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups cooked rice, preferably day-old
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions: How to Cook Steak Fried Rice

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the steak from the wok and set aside.
  3. Heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil in the wok. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the bell pepper and frozen peas and carrots to the wok. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the wok and pour the beaten eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the wok, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
  7. Return the cooked steak to the wok and stir to combine with the rice and vegetables.
  8. Drizzle the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil over the rice mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Continue to stir-fry the steak fried rice for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  10. Remove the wok from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
