Sablefish, also known as black cod, is a rich and buttery fish that is perfect for a special dinner. This recipe features sablefish marinated in a miso glaze and then baked to perfection. The result is a tender and flavorful dish that will impress your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 4 sablefish fillets
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions: How to Cook Sable Fish

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic to make the marinade.
  3. Place the sablefish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure to coat each fillet evenly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Remove the fillets from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Bake the sablefish in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the sablefish from the oven and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  7. Serve the sablefish hot with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables. Enjoy!
